When Jack Porter, an experiential brand designer, invited PixelFLEX to integrate bespoke direct view LED video wall features into the new Michigan State University Izzo Football Building, we were ready for the challenge. This initiative aimed to enrich the facility with innovative and interactive displays, tailored to fit unique spatial requirements and designed to curve and angle for an uninterrupted visual experience.
The project’s first hallmark is a captivating 60-ft by 18-ft angled video wall situated in the lobby, incorporating PixelFLEX’s FLEXMod 2.5mm LED with Pixel Shield technology. This feature elegantly wraps around a mitered corner, serving as a dynamic canvas for displaying branded athletic content. The installation not only elevates the aesthetic appeal of the space but also stirs excitement and fosters school spirit among students and visitors alike.
Further enhancing the interactive environment, the second installation is located in the Nike Gear Lab. This segment utilizes PixelFLEX’s FLEXUltra 2.5mm panels, constructing an immersive experience with displays that extend over 12 feet in height and nearly six feet in width. The seamless integration of floor panels beneath a durable tempered glass overlay invites direct engagement. This setup allows students to interactively explore various football uniform options and visualize themselves in Nike gear, bridging the gap between physical and digital realms in alignment with the contemporary, digital-first preferences of the university’s student body.
Together, these features underscore Michigan State University’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology to create engaging, modern spaces. The collaboration of industry leaders that made this project possible include:

With the opening of a $37.5 million state-of-the-art facility, the University of Alabama at Birmingham recently unveiled the new home of the Collat School of Business and the Bill L. Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Designed by Williams Blackstock Architects of Birmingham and Robert A.M. Stern Architects of New York City, the 108,000-square foot educational center was created to provide a modern and innovative learning environment.
Wanting an eye-catching display that would acknowledge all those you helped make the new facility possible, the University worked with the visual design specialists at Fravert Services who installed a free-flowing FLEXUltra LED video design from Nashville-based PixelFLEX™.
Knowing that LED video gave us the ability to be more creative, Fravert started toying with the idea of using the individual PixelFLEX modules to create something truly interesting. Since this would not only serve as the donor wall, but also a recruiting tool for prospective students and faculty, the custom nature of the design would allow us to best demonstrate where the University is headed, and what it means to be a student at the school. (Press Release)
“For us, we are trying to design more experiential displays, and the PixelFLEX technology simply gives us the freedom to be more creative, which is something we truly value.”

Basketball is at the core of Providence College’s identity. Its program is a major attraction for both potential recruits and students looking to participate in a robust college athletics scene. But In 2017, Providence was the only program in the BIG EAST without a dedicated on-campus practice facility.
The main entrance creates an unforgettable first impression for recruits with a two-story atrium, floating Friars logo, and tactile statement wall. Providence promises players more than basketball with dedicated study spaces and an emphasis on family. Program values fill the walls and connect players to the greater goals behind each practice. With playful, personal touches, like the player’s lounge or the barbershop graphic of famous player haircuts, athletes can feel at home.
The Ruane Friar Development Center is a 56,000 square-foot practice facility for the men’s basketball team, equipped with cutting-edge tech, two full-size practice courts, an athletics training center, staff offices, and a new Friar Athletics Hall of Fame. The main concourse level is elevated with a large format fine pixel pitch LED Display.
Opened in 2007, The Mount Olive Performing Arts Center is Morris County, New Jersey’s newest premiere destination for live theater, dance, music and comedy. The 1400+ seat venue has featured a variety of acts including Jim Breuer, The Glen Miller Orchestra, Robert Klein, The Dallas Brass and Glen Burtnik with Bob Burger.
The head of the Board of Education for Mount Olive Township contacted us summer of 2014. The high school in Mt. Olive has a performing arts center that is used not only by the high school, but occasionally puts on public events for the township. The district wanted to enhance the large stage at the facility, but needed something lightweight, yet large to enhance visuals.
They ended up installing a 39.4′ x 23.61′ 25mm LED wall.
