Nashville, Feb. 17, 2014 – Ten voices, 10 microphones, a unique vision and a stage is all it took for national sensation, Straight No Chaser (SNC), to change the common image of an all-male a cappella group. Since the band’s reunion, coordinated by Atlantic Records in 2008, the men have seen huge success by continually modernizing their act with humor and timeless, as well as current, pop songs to captivate their audience, something that has set them apart since their inception in 1996 at Indiana University. This year, PixelFLEX LED Curtains were included during the act’s 68-city Under The Influence tour promoting their album of the same name. The curtains added a brand new element to the shows with the panels’ versatility, flexibility and affordability.

PixelFLEX, the industry leader in lightweight, flexible LED video curtain panels, offered a cost-effective, practical and simple packing solution to the tour and production manager when the crew wanted to balance new visuals with the vocals, emotions and originality of the act.

“The PixelFLEX video curtain gave the show a bigger presence for the crowd without overwhelming the art of the performance,” said Richard Korby, Tour and Production Manager for Straight No Chaser. “We were pleasantly surprised at the reception from the audience; the panels brought the experience to another level for those who had seen the show before and those who were seeing SNC for the first time.”

Throughout the three month tour, the 20mm LED curtains displayed an introductory video about the group, served as a tool for promotional material, and added a novel element of background images and video throughout each performance.

“It’s the marriage of artistry, economics and logistics,” explained Korby. “It travels very efficiently and that was the key. The way it packs and folds up into a single road case kept us from having to add trucking, which is important because we’ve got to watch every penny when we’re out on the road.”

The curtains are flexible in all directions, making it possible for the panels to bend and shape around structures for a more creative, dynamic and artistic display. Though the six screens were used statically throughout the tour, they provided the unparalleled bonus of being compact and simple to set up, take down, and pack into two road cases, something that the Systems Technician, Bob Rager, and Lighting and Video Director, Christ Jones, were impressed with.

Looking forward to the 2014 tour season, Korby is planning to again utilize PixelFLEX technology for SNC’s video needs.

A relentless and tireless tour schedule defines the Christian rock band, Skillet, as they travel far and wide to deliver as many as 150 performances annually to their fans. Such a demanding calendar requires high-quality equipment that can easily bend, mold and form to every venue as the production crew desires, which is exactly what PixelFLEX LED Curtains provides for the group.

Flexible in all directions, PixelFLEX LED Curtains are able to bend and shape around structures for a more creative display. Aside from offering varied settings and visuals, PixelFLEX panels pack up quickly and with very little hassle. “For the crew, the biggest benefit is the ease of use; it goes up and down very easy,” said Scotty Rock, production manager for the band. “The biggest sell for me is the fact that I can fit our entire wall in three half pack trunks and stack them three tall if I need to, which saves a lot of truck space.” Skillet has used PixelFLEX panels for multiple purposes, including the streaming of entirely custom and original content. The curtains have also been used to display and playback video as well as for effects.

Videos and images can be sent to the screen using any computer with a DVI-D connection – PixelFLEX LED Curtains are available from low resolution to high resolution, allowing users to demonstrate simple effects or elaborate videos. The high caliber visual components of the curtains come with equally impressive customer service assistance and without the need for an extensive budget.

During a recent tour, 20mm PixelFLEX panels were used in the round and hung from a 30-foot circle truss over the stage, giving onlookers a video show of 360 degrees during the performance. Currently, Skillet is using 18mm panels that are lined up one tall and ten wide to create a 40-foot wide and eight-foot tall wall that is flown with high-speed chain motors to move up and down during the show.

“I was surprised when I needed to take the wall down during a changeover and all my hands disappeared,” said Rock. “I was able to take the whole thing down myself in ten minutes and we packed it into the case in another five minutes.

” The Skillet production team prefers PixelFLEX curtains for their weight and flexibility. The production team is extremely happy with the versatile panels and is excited to incorporate them into shows for years to come.

Nashville, Jan. 6, 2014 – PixelFLEX, the leading provider of flexible and lightweight LED video screens, continues to heighten the industry standard by taking LED screens to another price and performance level with the introduction of FLEXCurve, available in 8mm, 9mm and 12mm.

FLEXCurve allows for simplified set up and a unique design while holding to the same standards as the company’s existing LED video curtain panels, which have exceeded expectations for notable musicians like Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Thompson Square.

Featuring a compact, strong and modular design, made with heavy-duty aluminum and with the added benefit of weighing under 40 pounds, FLEXCurve’s screen can be adjusted from -10 to 10 degree curve, allowing both convex and concave curves. Additionally, PixelFLEX’s newest LED video screen has a rig and click installation system, making for a seamless, fluid connection between panels. Strategic handle placements allow for an easy set up by a single person, eliminating the need for multiple hands to prep before and during a show.

As with PixelFLEX’s existing line of LED video screens, FLEXCurve is simple to operate and set up – videos and images can be sent to the screen using any computer with a DVI-D connection. In addition, the panels can be stored in a single road case to simplify shipping logistics while minimizing transportation costs.  These panels ride four to a case and can be stored at any angle within the case.

“Video content is an essential part of live performances,” said Jeremy Byrd, PixelFLEX’s founder and president. “Today, delivering high quality video content is critical to maximizing the audience’s experience. With the introduction of FLEXCurve, we’re changing the conversation about video screens by providing another high-quality product but tweaking it to simplify and satisfy.”

Designed with the touring client in mind, but ideal for permanent installations as well, the slim and sleek cabinet design has fewer cables, reducing failure rate and increasing reliability. FLEXCurve includes a preview mode, permitting RGB preview testing without the need to connect to an external data source. The system allows for front and rear accessibility, enabling single module replacement and improving serviceability, while a hinged backplate provides easy access to the screen’s back panel.

FLEXCurve joins PixelFLEX’s existing line of LED video screen offerings, which range from 6mm to 100mm.

Orlando, Fla., Nov. 11, 2013 – For its signature annual event bringing together radio and record industry professionals under one roof, the Christian Music Broadcasters(CMB) organization tapped Elite Multimedia Productions to handle complete production services at Momentum 2013.

More than 600 attendees recently journeyed to the Disney Yacht & Beach Club Convention Center in Orlando to participate in Momentum 2013 and its four days of music, workshops and other activities related to the Christian music industry.  Given the impact the event can have on a musician or band’s career, delivering exceptional production services is a major priority for the CMB team.

“Momentum is a critical springboard for musicians looking to make an impression on broadcasters in hopes of securing more time for their songs across public airwaves,” stated Michelle Younkman, CMB’s executive director. “As such, it is vital that we provide our musical acts with a production level that enhances, not detracts, from their live performance.

Over the course of the four day event, more than 40 bands performed on the main stage in the hotel’s main ballroom. Elite Multimedia Productions, a professional sound, lighting, and video company based in Nashville , provided event organizers and performers with peace of mind by creating a warm and engaging environment featuring rich visuals, optimal sound and superior lighting.

“We know that our artists and our record companies need to feel the security of having the highest quality professional services available to them,” Younkman said. “Having Elite Multimedia Productions on-site to handle the entire production for Momentum enabled everyone in attendance to focus exclusively on what was most important to them for a successful event.”

For the main stage, Elite used an Avid Profile Desk – one for monitors and one for front of house – while flying three clusters of three line arrays featuring the Electro Voice EV XLD281.  To provide seamless transitions between musical presentations, the company utilized Midas Pro 2 for production inputs. In an effort to help each act individualize its set, Elite turned to PixelFLEX’s lightweight, ultra-flexible 20mm LED video curtain panel upstage to enhance visuals, enabling the musicians to change the look of their performance.

“The primary challenge for CMB’s Momentum this year was the number of acts and the tight time frames for their set,” said Tom Wilson, vice president of event production for Elite. “That had to be carefully orchestrated to ensure that each performer had adequate time to set up so that they could focus solely on their performance without having to worry about external concerns. My team worked well in advance with each act to plan and integrate the transitions from one to the next.”

In addition to handling services to the main stage, Elite also was charged with production on the event’s second stage, which was also located in the main ballroom. The second stage – featuring a 10×17 rear projection screen fed by two Panasonic 10k projectors – was used by CMB for presentations by radio broadcasting professionals in-between musical performances.  Elite’s ability to deliver unmatched support to both stages was one of the major benefits of working exclusively with one company, according to Younkman.

“Being able to feel 100 percent secure in knowing that we on the Momentum leadership team did not have to worry about anything in regards to production is priceless,” Younkman concluded. “Tom and the Elite team were able to work with us in an incredible way and really took care of us by providing a great service to the artists and our radio attendees. We look forward to working with them again on next year’s event.”

Elite Multimedia Productions provides turn-key production services to many popular recording artists, including Luke Bryan and Rodney Atkins, as well as for special events across the U.S.

Nashville, Nov. 4, 2013 – Four-time Grammy award winner India.Arie has returned to the music scene after a four year, self-imposed hiatus and is currently traveling the country on a 12 week, 30-city tour for her 2013 album debut, SongVersation. PixelFLEX’s flexible, affordable and sharp LED curtains are giving India.Arie’s tour a different and updated set of visuals than what fans experienced during her last performances, including high-quality video, effects and colorful backdrop illumination.

PixelFLEX, the industry leader in lightweight, flexible LED video curtain panels, offered a cost-effective, practical and time-saving solution to the tour manager and crew when they wanted to raise the tour’s visuals to a new level.

“I had been in contact with India.Arie’s creative director about what a tour might look like when she started producing her (new) album,” said André C. Allen, owner of BlackLight Productions Inc. and tour manager and production designer for the tour. “The only problem was the tour was already routed before we knew what the show would be; they wanted video content and I needed something that could be set up in an hour that wasn’t cost prohibitive. My research to find an affordable and easy to set up system led me to PixelFLEX.”

Allen’s first time utilizing the PixelFLEX panels came with a lot of pleasant surprises. The ease of use, requiring just a few people to set up, accompanied with its lightweight structure and ability to pack into one road case were shocking to the team during the rehearsal process.

“I’m always looking for the three Fs: form, function and finance,” explained Allen. “I’ve used other LED technologies and if I’d known then what I know now, I’d definitely have used PixelFLEX as the solution; it’s just a really good product.”

Every venue set up is the same throughout the tour, consisting of 2 20mm 4×8 panels in the center to create an 8×8 screen with the remaining 2 20mm 4×8 panels hanging on either side with a two to three foot gap in between.

Moving forward, Allen plans to utilize PixelFLEX video panels every chance he gets and is excited to use the company’s higher resolution screens – being unveiled at the LDI Show in Las Vegas in a few weeks – not only for future tours but for smaller venues as well.

Nashville, Oct. 8, 2013 – Live On The Green, a free six-week concert series in downtown Nashville produced by independent radio station Lightning 100, recently held its fifth successful series of outdoor shows. During this year’s series, PixelFLEX LED video curtain panels took audience visuals to a new level by providing high-quality video and an up-close experience to everyone in the crowd with their lightweight, flexible and brightly illuminated screens.

The Live On The Green series has grown exponentially from year-to-year; this year, the series drew approximately 12,000 attendees per week to performances by 18 artists, including Michael Franti & Spearhead, Matt Nathanson, Local Natives, and Matt & Kim. For the last two weeks of shows, PixelFLEX provided 12 20mm panels to enhance the audience’s visibility of the stage and, more importantly, the performers.

“With the crowd size we experienced this year, it helped to alleviate the issue of people not being able to see the stage,” explained Chris Paxton, event producer for Live On The Green. “Additionally, the added sponsorship activation potential is a huge opportunity for us; being able to run video that our entire audience can see is something we will be able to deliver to our sponsors next year.”

The PixelFLEX panels were set up to the left of the stage to highlight live video streams while the artists were on stage and display a mix of sponsors in between artists. PixelFLEX handled all the set up and activation for the screens, as the Live On The Green production team needed the application to be turnkey within the small timeframe allotted.

“I was very impressed by the simplicity of set up, as well as PixelFLEX’s ability to successfully deliver an activation of this size and scope under a very limited timeframe,” remarked Paxton. “The team got it up and running on time and it went really well.”

With PixelFLEX LED curtains, videos and images can be sent to the screen using any computer with a DVI-D connection. PixelFLEX curtains are available from low resolution (100mm) to high resolution (6mm), allowing users to demonstrate simple effects or elaborate videos. The high caliber visual components of the curtains come with equally impressive customer service assistance and without the need for an extensive budget.
