TLS Productions provides a complete turnkey design solution for the number one kid’s entertainment brand using FLEXLite Plus 3.9mm LED video technology

Nashville, July 28th, 2016 – Held inside the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, the 2016 Licensing Expo is the world’s premier brand, character and art marketplace that connects owners and agents with retailers, licensees and manufacturers. Estimated as a $262.9 billion industry, exhibitors must create a captivating visitor experience in order for these connections to be made. So when Nickelodeon, the world’s number-one entertainment brand for kids, approached TLS Productions Inc. about creating an inviting and memorable booth experience for their guests, they knew LED video would play a significant role in the design solution, and that LED solution was FLEXLite Plus 3.9mm technology from PixelFLEX.

“LED video technology is becoming very inundated into the consumer environmental experience and therefore a lot of our clients are looking for a heightened LED presence in almost everything they do,” began Brad Hayes, TLS Productions President. “With more projects now requiring an HD LED video solution, we are very excited about the opportunities to work with PixelFLEX because their products allow us to generate a higher level of creativity and push the envelope of what is possible for our clients.”

Getting started on the Nickelodeon booth design, Assistant Production Manager Bobby Glowacki and Account Executive Cameo Stancliff began speaking with the Nickelodeon team to understand the full scope of the project, which would include a comprehensive production design.

“When Cameo and I were initially discussing the design with Nickelodeon, they were looking for truly cohesive booth experience and they needed a turnkey production company who could handle lighting, audio, rigging and LED video,” explained Glowacki. “For the video portion, they asked that the LED wall to be a focal point to showcase clips of their programming, but at the top of every hour we would transition into a captivating visitor experience called ‘Slime Time’. On this cue, the LED wall would break into an ‘interruption’ screen and start oozing green slime which all coincided with audio and lighting cues for an added layer of excitement. To make this work, we knew the LED video wall would have to be bright with a high resolution so that everything popped off the screen, and the FLEXLite Plus worked great.”

With new and improved features, FLEXLite Plus from PixelFLEX is one of the highest resolution curve-able LED displays on the market, capable of a 15-degree curve in any direction. Because of its bright, dense display and high refresh rate, FLEXLite Plus photographs and videos smoothly and its tiles are calibrated directly out of the box to help decrease failure, and insure perfect color and brightness of your LED screen. Additionally, the preview test button allows for easy viewing of signal and power connections.

“I really like the panel size of the FLEXLite Plus and it’s very lightweight and quiet too,” added Glowacki. “The final LED wall ended up being about 4’ tall and 16’ wide, using 14 total panels. During the load-in, we literally had about 3-4 inches of space to work when installing the wall, but it all went very quickly and efficiently, and it truly made the booth design a seamless integration between lighting, audio and video for a complete visitor experience.”

With the Licensing Expo now concluded, TLS Productions is proud to be one of the newest production rental partners for the award-winning line of PixelFLEX LED video technology. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, TLS Productions specializes in creating live event and trade show designs for clients across multiple industries, and they are excited to now be offering PixelFLEX as a primary LED video solution.

“Earlier this year, TLS Productions and PixelFLEX went to Los Angeles for a series of PixelFLEX product demonstrations for some of our biggest clients and the events were a tremendous success,” admitted Carl Kedzierski, TLS Productions Director of Marketing. “When evaluating new technologies, it is not necessarily what interests us, but more so about what interests our clients, and our clients loved the PixelFLEX line of LED technology.”

“The biggest draw to the PixelFLEX technology for me is that the technology works and the people work too,” concluded Hayes. “In this industry, you can get gear from just about anybody, but for us, it’s really about the people and process of working together for the mutual success of making clients happy. In doing this, the PixelFLEX team is an ideal production partner for TLS Productions.”

Production designer Trenton Dick expands on his previous LED video design with the use of FLEXLite Plus 6.9mm and FLEXCurtain HD 12.5mm LED video technology

Nashville, 7/25/2016 – Taking center stage inside the Lakeland Center, the 2016 Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant showcased 48 contestants all vying for the opportunity to compete for the coveted title of Miss America. Held in conjunction with the Miss Florida Outstanding Teen Pageant, production designer Trenton Dick was once again working behind the scenes at Miss Florida, and was asked this year to build upon the previous pageants LED video design. So with an expanded budget and some increased expectations, Dick decided to create three LED video walls for the event using FLEXLite Plus 6.9mm and FLEXCurtain HD 12.5mm LED video technology from Nashville-based PixelFLEX.

“We used the PixelFLEX LED video technology for the first time in our 2015 pageant design and the producers loved it so much they really wanted to expand our video design for 2016,” began Dick. “With the opportunity to expand the design, I knew I wanted to create a large center screen using a high-definition 6mm product, and then I wanted to create two LED video towers that would be stage right and left of the center screen to give us the space to be more creative with our custom graphic content. From the very first day we set it up, the producers were absolutely ecstatic with the new design and it actually made people stop for a moment to truly take it all in.”

Knowing he wanted to use 6mm technology for the center screen, Dick began speaking with the team at PixelFLEX about what might be available in their rental inventory. Once he learned about the high-definition 6.9mm FLEXLite Plus he chose to use 60 panels that when assembled would measure 13’ tall x 24’ wide for the center LED screen.

“This was actually the first time I had used the FLEXLite panels, which were exactly what I was looking for,” explained Dick. “When I first saw the technology in action, I was blown away by not only how sharp and clean the images were, but also how bright it was too. Anytime I do a center screen for this type of production going forward, I am definitely going to use the FLEXLite Plus 6.9mm product because it was absolutely amazing.”

The FLEXLite Plus builds on the importance of meeting every need for every client. With new and improved features, FLEXLite Plus is capable of a 15-degree curve in any direction, and is one of the highest resolution curve-able LED displays on the market.

Dick continued, “Since we went with such a large center screen, I decided to use the FLEXCurtain HD 12.5mm product line for the side fills. I had worked with the technology last year so I knew exactly what it could do and the walls were each about 20’ tall x 4’ wide. Matching the content between the two systems actually worked out well, and the FLEXCurtain really allowed us to extend the creative space of the design.”

The Parnelli Award-winning FLEXCurtain HD is a lightweight and flexible LED video screen ideal for high resolution video playback and video effects for indoor or outdoor applications. Its hi-res LED video can be driven by any DVI output, and the multi-directional, flexible design of the FLEXCurtain HD makes it easy to store and transport. FLEXCurtain HD is 60-90% lighter than the competition, and using the quick-lock system, 500 square feet of FLEXCurtain HD can be setup and broken-down in under 15 minutes.

“With the increased LED design, I was a little bit nervous about the load-in schedule because we only had one day to set it up and go because the preliminary rounds started the very next day,” admitted Dick. “I had a crew of about 3-4 techs helping me and once we got everything unpacked it all went together rather quickly.  On the center screen, we did four rows of 15 panels and once we got the first row centered on the pipe everything else went together like clockwork and we had the LED walls up in no time.”

As the 2016 Miss Florida Pageant drew to a close, Courtney Sexton took home the coveted crown and title, while Anjelica Jones was named Miss Florida Outstanding Teen. But regardless of the outcome of the pageant, the technical team behind the production knew they had created a winning video design with PixelFLEX LED video technology.

“Using the Resolume control software, we were able to create some very dynamic motion graphic effects that could layer on top of the contestant photos, sponsor logos and static backgrounds,” concluded Dick. “After we did a bit of final programming to size all the elements correctly for the LED walls it all worked exactly as we hoped. At the beginning of the design process the producers clearly stated they wanted to expand on the design we created last year, and by adding the FLEXLite Plus with the FLEXCurtain HD that is exactly what we did and the show looked great.”

Each unique project begins with an idea, concept or vision that some may not have even thought was possible. As creative LED video wall displays and digital signage continue to see dramatic increases in popularity, more companies than ever are beginning to offer products and services to meet the high demand. With this increase in providers, thorough research is essential to ensure that a company’s product and service can successfully bring your project to life. Here’s a look at a few of the questions you should consider before diving head first into your LED video wall project.

What are you trying to create?

  • There are many uses for LED video displays beyond that of a traditional square or rectangle design. There are magnetic, rubber, cast, and aluminum based products that serve a number of unique purposes. Just because a company appears to have done a lot of large scale work, this does not necessarily make them the best fit for your project.

Does the product exist to make your vision a reality?

  • Often, architects and designers may pitch concepts and ideas using LED video products before doing research to make sure that a solution exists for that application. The LED video display industry is rapidly advancing its products and capabilities on a technical playback side as well as the physical attributes of the displays themselves.

Is the design feasible and is it serviceable?

  • The market can often limit the mind of its creativity, but making sure the LED Video design is feasible both physically and financially is the best place to start. A final install can look incredible, but if you cannot easily service the display in the event of product failure then you may have a lot of costs on the back side of the installation you were not expecting. Making your LED video display design works from a support and service standpoint will save you a lot of headaches.

Who have they worked with?

  • Have they worked with large fortune 500 companies? Can they provide quality references from clients? What type of work have they done primarily? Appropriately educating yourself about your potential LED provider can help ensure that your project will go more smoothly.

Does the provider have the resources to provide service before, during and after the installation?

  • Often times, people only see the end goal in mind, overlooking the bigger picture. Will the company you choose have project managers, technical sales reps, and accessible post sale technical support? Making sure you feel comfortable with your provider after they have your money is most important to the successful longevity of your LED video display

Is the company you’re looking at trying to sell you what you need?

  • This is one thing that you need to look at very hard. While each project has a product that can meet the basic requirements you need to optimally create your video design, there is often a slightly better option that the client wants. Make sure your provider is giving you product options and be sure to ask for a product demo. This will allow you to feel 100% comfortable in your choice of both provider and LED video product.

Can your LED video display provider grow with you and your long term vision?

  • Every company has a growth plan, and future projects in mind. Making sure your provider can grow with you and your long term ideas and goals is something that is often overlooked when making the investment into LED video displays. Keeping in mind your future growth needs, your LED video investment should serve you for at least five to ten years depending on your specific application.

When selecting a LED Video Display company, they should guide you through the purchase and installation process and provide routine maintenance and service. Be sure to choose an sign company that is experienced in LED sign installation and service. Ask for and check references, and if you have the opportunity for a facility tour, take it. As always, PixelFLEX LED video displays are sold exclusively through our network of dealer partners, and we’d be more than happy to guide you through that process as your partner along the way.

Southeastern rep firm HWPco becomes the newest manufacturer’s representative for the award-winning line of PixelFLEX LED video technology

Nashville, 7/5/2016 – Originally founded in 1970, HWPco represents multiple manufacturers across a myriad industries and provides quality products, solutions and technical expertise from their southeast headquarters in Flowery Branch, Georgia. When they were approached by computer and video signal processing manufacturer Analog Way Americas to assist in the Grand Opening ceremony for their new Metro Atlanta headquarters, HWPco was more than happy to help. Now needing to create an exciting atmosphere that would capture the attention of the invited guests, HWPco turned to Nashville-based PixelFLEX who provided the event with the award-winning FLEXCurtain LED video technology.

“For the Grand Opening, we really wanted a welcoming and exciting environment for our guests to be able to truly experience the new facility and show them what Analog Way technology is all about,” began Andrzej Lubaszka, Chief Technologist Analog Way Americas. “As our southeastern rep firm, HWPco has been a tremendous asset in helping us get settled in our new location and they have also introduced us to many new technology partners like PixelFLEX.”

“When Analog Way Americas shared with us their plans to relocate to Georgia, I told them we would love to be a part of the Grand Opening celebration,” began Marcus Myers, HWPco Principal. “Since Analog Way is the backbone and the processing power behind LED video display technology, we knew it would be a perfect fit to bring a LED video manufacturer into the event, and PixelFLEX was the ideal partner.”

As preparations for the Grand Opening celebration got underway, the design team would need to transform the 6,000 square foot warehouse space into an engaging environment to introduce the honored guests to the new Analog Way Americas headquarters and training facility.

Lubaszka continued, “In creating the concept for the celebration, we wanted to set up an official press announcement to truly show the industry that we are fully ready for operations here in Georgia. It was great that we were able to partner with PixelFLEX because they provided a very impressive LED wall that served as the background to the press conference and gave our event a truly dynamic atmosphere for the launch.”

“When evaluating the different LED wall manufacturers, the decision to choose PixelFLEX really came down to the approach of the company as a whole,” explained Myers. “Their products are terrific, but the real draw is the tremendous support on the back end. Being able to provide local support with quality products demonstrated to us that PixelFLEX had the dedication to provide the perfect LED video wall solution, which they absolutely did.”

Now ready to begin the LED wall installation for the Grand Opening, the FLEXCurtain would be divided into three sections measuring a total of 30’ wide x 10’ high; all hung from a truss structure rigged to the roof of the new warehouse.

“I was really happy with how well-packaged, easy-to-use, and lightweight the PixelFLEX system was, and also how smoothly everything went up,” admitted Lubaszka. “Since the wall went up extremely fast, we didn’t have to spend a lot of time trying to figure things out or fix problems on site, and it really gave us the time to focus on the fine details of the event to make the right impression on our guests.”

With the event now set to begin, the honored guests were first treated to an official ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the new facility, and then led inside for the official press announcement backed by the FLEXCurtain LED video wall.

“During the press conference we used the LED wall to show a presentation detailing our company history and headquarters in Paris, and then it also moved into content that reflected our new environment here in the Atlanta area,” explained Lubaszka. “We also used live IMAG for the speakers and then created custom content to give acknowledgement to all our sponsors of the event. Later that day, we also used the FLEXCurtain to conduct a training, and not only did PixelFLEX provide assistance with the planning and execution of the event, they also took part in the training and supported us the whole way.”

Although the Analog Way Americas Grand Opening is now complete, the relationship between HWPco and PixelFLEX has just begun. As the newest rep firm for PixelFLEX, HWPco is excited to see where the relationship will go.

“Prior to the Analog Way Americas celebration, we were actually in discussion with a few LED video screen manufacturers about becoming a rep firm for their product lines,” concluded Myers. “After going through our due diligence, we really felt that PixelFLEX was the best partner for us because we call upon on all vertical markets, including systems integration. Having the opportunity to represent innovative and quality LED video display products that are valuable to all these applications, from a company that is dedicated to customer support, is a tremendous advantage.”
